SPONSORS OF THE COUNTS FAMILY REUNION & GLADE HOLLOW CEMETERY
In July of 2025, financial sponsorship of both the reunion and the Glade Hollow cemetery was offered to members of the John Counts of Glade Hollow Facebook group.
It was a brand new idea for us ! And, it was well received by our Counts kin on our John Counts of Glade Hollow Facebook group !!
For a contribution of at least $50, a sponsor could garner space at the official physical reunion to offer for sale books they have written, music they have produced, genealogy charts and jewelry that they have designed, their business cards, flyers, etc. Their names would also be included on the official reunion brochure for that year and would be listed on the John Counts of Glade Hollow Facebook group. A donation of any amount could also garner sponsorship of the upkeep of the Glade Hollow cemetery.
The response was overwhelming! Most sponsors gave doubly - to both the reunion AND the cemetery upkeep AND in double the stated amount: $50, $100. For the first time, members of the JC of GH Facebook group contributed even more than the attendees of the actual reunion!! It was a huge success and added needed money into the Counts Family Reunion Fund! With it, we can consider purchasing things we have never been able to, for example, starting a stock of on-hand of "Some Descendants of John Counts of Glade Hollow" books by Counts kin, historian and Judge Elihu Jasper Sutherland, the sales of which we, in turn, reinvest back into the reunion! This provides an immediate point of sale for the purchase of the book instead of needing to go elsewhere.
Thanks to all who invested to help continue the operation of the reunion which began in 1936 by Counts kin, E. J. Sutherland and towards the Glade Hollow cemetery upkeep!
